About Me

My name is Rich, and I am a professional drummer and percussionist based in Surrey, UK. I have been playing drums for nearly 20 years, with over a decade of professional experience performing and recording across the UK and Europe.

I am best known as a live drummer, having toured extensively throughout the UK and Europe with my original project, Dead Air, where I remain a founding member. I specialise primarily in rock, metal, pop, punk, and alternative music, and I take great pride in my preparation, consistency, and professionalism. My focus is always on delivering a powerful, reliable, and engaging performance that serves both the artist and, most importantly, the audience.

Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to work at a number of internationally recognised venues and studios, including the Royal Albert Hall, Abbey Road Studios, AIR Studios, KONK Studios, the Isle of Wight Festival, and the Pula Colosseum.

In addition to live performance, I am available for international touring, live sessions, and remote pre-production work from my fully equipped home studio. I particularly enjoy collaborating with artists early in the creative process, helping to shape arrangements, refine ideas, and bring their musical vision to life.

Across all projects, I place a strong emphasis on musicality, attentive listening, and serving the song. I work closely with artists to ensure stylistic integrity, clarity of intention, and the highest professional standards at every stage of the process.

DRUM LESSONS

I also offer private drum lessons for students of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners to advanced players, both in person at my fully equipped home studio in Bramley, Surrey and online via video lessons.

My teaching approach is friendly, structured, and student-focused. Lessons are tailored to each individual, with an emphasis on:

  • Building solid technique and timing

  • Developing groove and musical confidence

  • Learning songs and styles the student enjoys

  • Encouraging creativity and enjoyment

I believe that learning music should be both rewarding and fun. As a guitarist and bass player as well as a drummer, I can also help students understand how drums fit within a band setting, developing strong ensemble skills alongside technical progress.

Whether you’re looking to start a new hobby, build confidence, or take your playing to a higher level, I would be delighted to help.
